Our Canadian Canoes
Canoe Hire Thames- Canadian Canoe Rental River Thames
1 Day £65 every day
Half Day £40
Canoe Hire Thames in our Canadian Canoes on the River Thames is suitable for complete beginners and experienced paddlers!
We rent our Canadian Canoes on the Thames for £65.00 per day or £40 per half day from our Base At Bisham Abbey, Marlow.
Suitable configurations:
2 or 3 Adults / 2 Adults with 1 or 2 children (When 2 children, they sit side by side on the middle seat)
We always need at least 2 capable people to paddle these canoes and there must be 2 adults in a canoe when a child is under 12 years old.
Minimum age in our Canoes is 4 years old.
Hirers need to be back at our base by 6.00pm.
Children will sit side by side on the middle seat and there is room for a picnic and spare clothes -teenagers will be classed as adults (unless they are small for their age!)
We normally advise customers to paddle upstream towards Hurley lock, which is very achievable even for families with smaller children. Paddlers can exit on to the grass at the lock, have a picnic, or leave the boats and walk in to Hurley village to get an ice-cream or have a pub lunch (see route below for more details). For those wanting a longer challenge, head further upstream in to the Hambleden stretch before returning.
Every participant gets a 50N buoyancy aid.
Smaller children will get 100N life jackets depending on their ability to swim.
The youngest age for a child to come in a boat is 4 years – we are not insured for 4 and under.
Sorry – We do not take pets in any of our boats.
Our boats have a weight limit of 110 kg per individual
We will carryout a quick safety briefing and instructions for all participants.
We selected our canoes because of their stability, quality and comfort.
We’ll supply a paddle for everyone who wants one.

Customers can bring a picnic and find the public grass on Hurley lock or paddle up further to the Hurley Riverside Grass or upstream. For those looking to have gentle paddle and a pub lunch, the options are: The Rising Sun or Ye Olde Bell in Hurley Village. For people looking for a longer paddle, the Flower Pot at Aston is further up stream and you will need to come along near to 10am. It’s always best to book for food in advance!.
Customers can leave our boats by the river before the short walk to the pubs and we will explain on the day.
